In addition to the prize of Grande Olio, also the prize Diego Soracco
Few days ago in Trevi have been distributed the first copies of the Guida agli Extravergini 2019 by Slow Food Editore, now in its twentieth edition, and have been awarded le companies who obtained the prestigious awards.
Great pride in particular for the company Benza Frantoiano in Imperia, with oil mill and firm in the Val Prino, that, with its Crù Turé Dop Riviera Ligure Riviera dei Fiori obtained the prize of Grande Olio. But not only this. To the company has been attributed the award entitled to the Ligurian Diego Soracco, born after the sudden and untimely death of the founder and curator for 19 years of the guide.
Soracco, more then anyone else, loved the oil with particular attention to the Ligurian one, and for about thirty years he has been collaborator, adviser and friend for the producers of his region.
The coordinator of the Liguria for the guide Francesca Rocchi writes: <We want to seal the recognition of a life dedicated to the extra virgin olive oil in this guide and in the next ones, identifying for each edition a Ligurian extra virgin olive oil that encloses what Diego, by tasting it, would have loved: good taste, cleaning, adherence to the characteristics of the cultivar, tradition in its manufacture and emotion>.
The Diego Soracco 2019 award is for the Primuruggiu of Frantoio Benza.
